![]() ![]() The state investigators interviewed the Activity Director who said that the resident “was talking bad about the staff during a recent Dietary Council Meeting.” The Director confirmed “having used a profane word to describe in front of other residents and staff members in the Dietary Council Meeting.” ![]() The resident recalled that “there were eleven or so other residents and several other staff members present in the meeting at the time.” The resident said that they no longer “participate in activities as much as the resident use to, and as a result attends only one or two activities a month.” The resident explained that they “did not like being around the Activity Director any longer.” The resident then said that the Activity Director “called the resident a profane name.” The resident’s “eyes became red and watery as the resident described feeling embarrassed and offended by the comment.” In the first investigation, a resident verbalized that the Activity Director “had called him a profane name during a recent Dietary Council Meeting.” The resident said that a month earlier on May 1, 2019, the patient “was waiting with other residents and staff for the Dietary Council Meeting to start.” The resident “recalled asking aloud where the Administrator was so the meeting could get started and commented it was like the Administrator to always be late.” The state investigators determined the nursing home "failed to prevent verbal abuse by a staff member toward a resident.” Additionally, the facility “ failed to prevent neglect by a staff member for.
